Logitech Squeezebox Boom wireless music player makes Sonos look overpriced

squeezebox boom

If you're reading this site, it's a good bet a big chunk of your music is on your PC. It doesn't have to stay there, though. Whether it's ripped tunes, downloads or streaming music, all that audio can go to the room of your choice with the Logitech Squeezebox Boom. You don't have to supply anything other than a network connection — thanks to Wi-Fi (802.11g, not the newer, faster 802.11n) and built-in stereo speakers (with 3-inch drivers), the Boom has everything it needs play your music up to a few hundred feet away, if Wi-Fi range specs are to be believed. Already have speakers? You can hook those up instead.

Besides playing songs from your PC, the Boom works with online streaming services like Rhapsody, Slacker and Pandora even when your computer's off. And, yes, that computer can be a Mac. The Boom hits stores next month for the tidy sum of $300. If this thing works like Logitech says it does, it'll make Sonos's gear look really overpriced.

Another reviewer genius. Um...this is not remotely like Sonos, to say that it will make it look overpriced is absurd.

You are right, the Sonos is an overpriced piece of crap, this isn't.

I've been looking for a while for a replacement for my ancient stereo system and have been tossing up between the Phillips Streamium WACS7500 or the Sonos. But this looks much better than either. (I can't understand why the Sonos is so expensive, and you still have to buy speakers!)

OK, so show me how I can control my other zones? how do I see what my music library consists of? hmm now I want to remove the next 3 songs in the queue while my other Zones still play independently? ....what do you mean I can't?? but you just compared this to my Sonos so I expect the same.... Oh I see your wrong again, missed the entire point and call yourself a reviewer - whatever!!!!
