Giant kites could power 100,000 homes
While harnessing the wind to generate energy isn't exactly a new idea, with turbines having been around for years, harnessing it with gigantic kites is. Imagine, with a small footprint on the land, a series of gigantic, connected kites using the wind to generate enough energy to power 100,000 homes.
It's still in experimental phases, but if it's successful than we could start seeing these gigantic, high-flying kites popping up all over the place. After all, energy doesn't get much cleaner or more green than wind power, which is blowing all the time anyways. Let's hope this is successful.
