One of the best developments in consumer electronics I've noticed over the last year or so is the spread of wireless technology to devices that didn't used to have it. Take, for example, this Epson WorkForce 600 all-in-one printer/scanner/fax machine. It connects to your network via Wi-Fi, letting you put it as far as you want from your PC or Mac — its only tether is a power cable.
Also handy is the 2.5-inch tilting color LCD, which you can use to preview documents before you print them, and even do basic editing. Photo got a little red-eye action? Not to worry — Auto Photo Correction gets rid of it and corrects for overexposure. It can scan up to 1,200 x 2,400 dpi resolution, instantly saving any documents as pdfs. On the printing side, it maxes out at 5,760 x 1,440 dpi and 38 pages per minute.
The price for this cornucopia of all-in-one wirelessness: $200. The WorkForce 600 debuts this month.
