Clock Delay may be craziest clock yet

delayclock_front.jpg

Clock Delay is the name of this unusual timepiece, perhaps because you can blame it if you’re late, saying you were trying to decipher what time it really was. But it’s not that hard to figure out — just look at the spot where its three cogwheels (nearly) meet and you’ll quickly discover the current hour, minute and second. Heck, that's a lot easier than some of the obtuse watches from Tokyoflash.

Designed in stainless steel and aluminum by Bas van Leeuwen for Studio Bloomm, the philosophy behind this idea decries our throwaway culture. Says its arty explanation: “Rarely we repair. In this way we lost our sense of interest in technology. Clock Delay brings this feeling back.”

Okay, we’ll forgive the artSpeak; that non sequitur doesn’t make Clock Delay any less interesting. Even though it's priced at a steep $1962 on the Studiobloomm site, we’d still like to get our hands on a Clock Delay without delay.
