Bus stop swing set makes commuting a bit more fun
As adults, we need to take the time to remember to have fun sometimes. It's not all working and going to and from work, you know! And fun doesn't necessarily involve drinking out at a bar somewhere, at least not all the time. What happened to childhood's playtime? Have we forgotten what made that so engaging?
This modified London bus shelter by Bruno Taylor gives commuters a chance to have a little bit of playtime during their morning commute. He went and attached swings to a number of bus stops around the city and while they probably didn't last too long, they added a bit of fun to a few people's lives. Why not make these part of every bus stop? Who doesn't love to swing? Let's make this happen.

Looks fun, but is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

The best part is entering the bus, just let go of the swing.

Who the girl on the swing? She's cute.
By Natovr at 12:01 PM ON 08/20/08
O.o cool! I would love this... because waiting for buses in this city is so boring. It seems more comfortable than the tiny thin benches we're supposed to sit/lean on.

What a cool idea... and how many ways it can go wrong. People need to lighten up a bit.
By Jimguru at 3:06 AM ON 08/22/08
It's a great idea but I'm sorry to be pessimistic. They would be vandalised and taken over by groups of drunken youths

What if there was more than one swing and the motion action could connect to a power generator....

...I don't like to swing, I get motion sick.
By Seth at 4:31 PM ON 08/31/08
I suspect that this was not a city decision, more that of some one/people out for a productive laugh. And good on them.
Anyone worried about injury is not enjoying life enough. What is life without little threat to it?

To Riverblue:
Sorry mate but you aint goin to tell me that someone was brave enough to put this in LONDON (a city of guffs and fairies), when I live in Scotland and know no-one would put one here for the same reasons.
PS.. I am not a vandal ye Fudcrack!!

@Supaw: Have you been there recently? Have you looked at every bus stop? If the answer to either of these is no, then you can't say for certain that this is fake.
Kudos for sticking around to defend your position though.

To B:
Cheers m8!
Havn't actually been there recently but have spent enough time there in the past to be a good judge of the general population in relation to that of your average Scottish city, and can certify that it would never happen.
