To solve your mosquito problem, acquire a bat problem

home_for_bats.jpgSo you've got a bit of a mosquito problem, do you? Well, you could get a bug zapper or cover yourself in some gross chemical spray. But you don't want to do that. I know what you need: even bigger flying creatures to eat the mosquitoes.

If you get yourself a bat conservatory, you'll attract a bunch of bats to your property. And bats love eating mosquitoes. You'll be able to sit back and relax as your winged minions take care of your bug problem. Sure, you'll now have a bat problem, but you can easily take care of that by buying a falcon's nest. Once the bats are taken care of, just shoot the falcons. It's the circle of life!

I would figure that you're joking about shooting falcons - 'cuz otherwise that's quite an irresponsible statement. Click the link and peruse it if you're not familiar with the Migratory Birds Treaty Act.

I think he was being very serious about shooting falcons, because he did not sound at all sarcastic.
What I find troubling is your complete uncaring for the poor bats and mosquitos. Where are the douche bags at complaining about the tragic loss of Mosquitoes and Bats? Are they not living beings too?

I for one am a fan of bats and any other animal that eats mosquitoes. Is there a way to attract dragonflies as well? Dragonflies during the day and bats at night. My bat/dragonfly army will be victorious in the fight against the vampire bugs.

Irresponsible would be if someone actually shot a falcon because a blog told him so. Come on, of course he was joking.

And, on topic, I would rather have mosquitoes than bats..

MacBeth-

Actually, I think it's rare that falcons go after bats for prey (though it does happen), and I'm not really uncaring 'bout bats (tangent: unrelated bat joke at the link)...

And Jen, someone actually shooting a falcon 'cuz of this poor attempt at humor would be another instance of people bein' irresponsible - good point!

& enone, getting dragonflies to take out the "little flies" would be cool, too.

A bat problem is not a problem. Also, if you don't like bats you can look into a purple martin birdhouse. Or both. I like the dragonfly idea.
