The Digg treehouse: no robots allowed (not even made-up ones)
The mysterious "Techno News" is reporting that a Nagasaki man was arrested on June 28th for
pulling off a Digger's dream: being able to vote for news stories all day, everyday. He supposedly rigged up a robotic arm with an icon detection system. It could look and refresh
Digg news pages and sift through what it's dugg and what it hasn't, able to vote for 1,500 stories in 24 hours. However, cheating with simple web-bots or even
more complex and cool robotic arms is frowned upon, so he got what was coming to him. Or so we're told.
Watch the video for yourself above, but we're calling shenanigans on this one. The horrible graphics, the choppy, robotic voice of the announcer and the odd shots (filming the culprit walking out of his house in the morning?) all make this very hard to believe. We're with BB Gadgets on this one — it's fake.
