Telemegaphone lets anyone call and shout over the mountaintops
File this one under Bad Ideas. The horn you're looking at is no normal public address system. No, it's not hooked up to one single, responsible source where only proper info gets to go through. Instead, it's linked up to a public phone number. That's right, anyone can call in and shout across the mountaintops in Norway.
It's called the "Telemegaphone Dale" by Magnus Torstensson and Erik Sandelin, and it's part of a larger art project called "Parafunctional Payphones." Anyone will be able to call and speak through the horns starting this Saturday, August 2. You've got to feel bad for anyone living nearby, as they're about to be subjected to 24 hours of drunk dialing and bad internet jokes.
