If you're bored this weekend, looking for a project, and happen to have a bunch of old, useless hard drives sitting around, here's a project for you: hard drive wind chimes. Yes, it's definitely the nerdiest thing you could possible hang over your porch, but it also looks pretty damn cool.

It doesn't look like it takes all that much in terms of technical skills, as this is more about taking something apart than putting it together, so even the less DIY inclined of us should be able to participate. And with flash hard drives the cool kids in town, it won't be long before these poor platter-based drives will be all available for craft projects such as this.
