iPhoneck Backup Battery makes up for iPhone's biggest shortcoming

iphone_battery.jpg

Now we can stop whining about short battery life in the iPhone 3G. As long as you don’t mind hanging a matching two-inch appendage off the end of your iPhone, this iPhoneck Backup Battery might do the trick. Just because Apple doesn’t want you milling around inside its precious phone to change a battery doesn’t mean you’re limited to just three hours of Monkey Ball or 3G web browsing.

From the looks of it, the iPhoneck appears to be a convincing extension to the iPhone, although the iPhone’s unique surfaces and appearance must be difficult to perfectly match. The company says it only takes 90 minutes to recharge its lithium-ion battery, which can be done using the iPhone dock or USB connector with or without the iPhone also attached. Available for pre-order now for $42.99, it “should be released on or about August 1.”

Great...So they make a backup battery for their "perfect" phone. And now it looks like shit because its four inches longer and sticking out of my pocket. WTF Apple?

By imotionsrt4 at 5:46 PM ON 07/17/08

Might as well carry a cordless phone around, or at least have 2 foot deep pockets. Good lord.
Don't put it in your back pocket, forget about it, and sit down...my break in half screwing up your connection port.

Isheep are suckers lol

Geez...The battery should be along the back not the bottem. iTunes being overloaded (again), really bad battery life, and now a really bad designed battery pack. Come on apple get it together!

Sure the battery on iPhone 3G is not that great, but what can we do? We want small size phones, powerful features and lengthy battery life.

Just get a backup battery. I got mine from iPhoneck brands. Their new 3G backup battery is probably one of the better looking products in the market. Their website is www.iphoneck.com

Erm, hello! This is *not* manufactured by Apple, so give them a break! You can already get other battery chargers, anyway.

We want smaller phones COCO, but not at the expense of short battery life. Check out the Blackjack II that I use. 8-9 hours of use, with 3g enabled all the time, and checking my mail/rss feeds quite often.

I recently ordered 2 battery packs for my amazing iphone. As I travel alot I wanted to be able to extend the battery life.

Iphoneck seemed to have the answer. I ordered 2 of there battery packs and delivery was meant to start the following week. Several weeks later no Battery pack and no responce to my emails. I finally got an answer after making a complaint to Paypal which is how I paid for the order. I got an immediate responce unlike the emails I sent to iphoneck. They promised to send my good that week. # weeks later after ignoring more emails they finally sent the order.

Finally I thought but only to be quickly disappointed. Ine of the Battery packs rattled and the light did not work. In fact once the battery was discharged it failed to charge. It was a dud.

I emailed iphoneck once again and again and again only to be ingnored again. They were not interested.

The other battery pack also fails to measure up to its claims and go flat in just a few hours on standby. Its also a dud.

I warn anyone NOT to purchase these items from IPHONECK this companies customer service is non existant and there products are shoddy and cheap as well as not performing to specification.

Sounds like a competitor (GOLLUM) writing out a story to bash iPhoneck. My order ID is #219, ordered 8 PCS, arrived a little late but all work fine. My colleagues and I love the design and its function. Thanks iPhoneck!

I am not a competitor. My order number was #105. The delivery was months late and the product DOA. I tried to work with them (Steven) and he asked me to send the bad unit back saying they would send a replacement. I sent the unit back but never got a replacement and they have ignored my repeated emails to either send me the replacement unit or credit my purchase back. What a mess!

I also order one battery already 2 months ago, paid it through PayPal, but till today no reply neither no shipment arrived to my door.
My order is #518. Hopefully they'll send it.

Ordered the new 2400 mAh Portable Power Station (Black)
They took my money.
I got: no product, no response to either a phone call (won't pick up or take message) or e-mail.
Do not order from these people.

I ordered the iPhineck 3G extended battery too. It took six months of hounding them with emails for them to ship me the product. When they finally did, it was defective and never held a charge. I went through a lengthy RMA process. 2 more months of houding them they sent me another battery and a "bonus" battery for my trouble. Both had the exact issue. Neither held a charge. This product is a myth. This company is fleecing unsuspecting Americans of their money and should be shut down. I maintain that if anything, FISHER probably works for iPhoneck because I have heard many stories now about how disreputable this company is.

As the battery on iPhone 3G is not that great, but it consist of what todays people want, small size phones, powerful features and lengthy battery life.

To overcome this situation we should have one extra battery. Recently i have bought from http://www.imaxpower.com
