Hang On Outlet keeps power vampires from sucking you dry
Here’s a clever idea for those who like to go around unplugging everything. Hang On Outlet gives you a place to dangle those plugs after you’ve disconnected them, keeping things neat and tidy and maybe encouraging you to vanquish those power vampires that suck energy while not doing anything.
Looks like designer Paula Oh is onto something here, stopping the leakage of countless wall warts, chargers, TVs in standby mode and such. But it’s still a pain to have to unplug everything just to stop the bleeding — why doesn’t someone figure out how to do this unplugging, you know, electronically?

When I lived in Ireland the wall sockets were all equipped with on/off toggles right on them. Something like that would be much easier to deal with than physically umplugging them.

Much like the toggles of the Irish wall sockets, I'm sure a few of us have used switches that controlled the circuit of the entire room. It's simply a matter of wiring the plugs into separate circuits each having their own switch, (for safety reasons). Then no unplugging necessary.

You know why not just have an on/off switch, like on UK plugs? I can turn my sockets OFF when I finish using something..
But most importantly Their turned off when there is nothing plugged in, so their safer...

A better idea would be a few extra slots to hang unused plugs, when you need to plug something else in. The way these are, the unused plug is in the way of the receptacle.
