Dubai building world's largest, fanciest fountain
Dubai isn't a city known for doing things subtly. No, when Dubai does something, it does it bigger, better, and with way more money than anywhere else in the world. Which is why it's no surprise that its new fountains are going to put every other fountain in the world to shame.
Costing a whopping $281 million, the new fountains will shoot water 450 feet into the air and pump 22,000 gallons of water through it at any given time. 6,600 lights and 50 projectors will shoot video and images onto the spray as its in the air, making it a remarkable sight, especially seeing that it'll be installed in the middle of the desert. It should be complete sometime next year, if you're a fountain enthusiast and want to go check it out.

ronzo - its their money, they can do with it whatever they want.
as for the fountain...I think it looks better natural, meaning no lights & projectors.....but I guess for night time it could make it pretty wicked.

The price baulked me initially-but then i realised that it is an investment to attract tourism.i guess it's a good idea.

dduhh its no waste, its touristic they gain money with all those stuff!! before they got all that infrastructure their country had no future now they are winning a lot of money
