While using a Bluetooth headset in public can make you seem anywhere from rude to crazy, it's not the most attention-grabbing thing you could do. After all, you've just got a little piece of plastic clipped to your ear. That's not too out of the ordinary.
More out of the ordinary? Using a Bluetooth earpiece that's shaped like a pistol, and holding it up to your ear while you talk. Yeah, that might get you some strange looks. The gun, dubbed the iGiveUp, functions just like a regular headset: to hang it up you simply pull the trigger, of course. If you're seriously interested in getting one of these for yourself, Instructables has detailed instructions for you. But don't be surprised when you get more than just some strange looks if you try using it in public.

In Ontario Canada the police frown on any object that looks like a gun
They might take it from you if it looks too much like a gun.

I think all these blue tooth users aka Mr./Mrs. Important I see out in public should just use a real gun. But then again I'm just one man with an opinion.

That's just stupid. And likely to get you shot when the highway patrol tries to pull you over and sees you have a gun. These things won't stay legal for long, I'd expect them to be banned post haste. Whoever thought marketing these was a good idea is an idiot.
Up next: Shotgun Pez dispenser! Looks like a real shotgun! Put it in your mouth and pull the trigger to dispense Pez. Great for kids!

Anybody here know what irony is? No? Well, just so it is clear, story is obviously a DIY joke in poor taste as the point of bluetooth connectors is to be small, convenient and hands free... Kevlar safety vest and mug shot not required.
By Majestic5 at 2:46 AM ON 07/16/08
Wow that is about as "Stupid" as an energy drink called Crack!! And that got canned, I'm sure this will too after a few people get shot!

Boom... headshot?
By CarpeNoctu at 2:27 AM ON 07/17/08
Yeah... Just wait until some drunk moron (or worse, some kid) accidentally grabs the real gun instead...

It doesn't have the legally-required orange tip -- no way you'll see these in public.

I think what everyone is missing is that this is a one-of-a-kind DIY project. More than that, it seems to be a spoof of all the people who walk around talking to themselves on bluetooth headsets and seem a little crazy for it. Just imagine if instead of talking to theirselves they instead are muttering with a gun to their heads, no they really look crazy.

Sorry, I have never appreciated really sick humor, and this is about as sick as it gets. It's just a good thing stupid isn't illegal(as I'm sure this thing is).
By jesusjack at 2:44 PM ON 07/17/08
It's obviously a fake, joke product. Ha. Ha...

point that at a cop, or other lawfully armed person and you're liable to end up dead.

First: Majestic5 the drink was actually called "Cocaine" not crack. i know some of the people who helped think of it (bad name but good drink).
Second: IF it is real they will most likely put markers on them so no one thinks it a real gun like the cap guns you once used as a kid. and i think its a nice novelty item that i would get. its not something i would use but more like display in an office. But who here has ever talked to someone that just wouldn’t shut up making you wish u had a gun to shoot yourself with. i know i have.

By lawstudent09 at 1:20 AM ON 07/25/08
