Apparently, many cases of food poisoning are spread via dirty kitchen towels. You know, you wipe off the counter after cutting up some raw chicken and then use the same towel to clean off that apple you're about to eat. Or something like that.
Well, thanks to student designer Paul Oxley, that may not be the case any longer. His invention, the Aquavac, is a small countertop wet vac, allowing you to wipe up spills by sucking them into its bowels rather than soaking them up into your disease-harboring countertop towel. You can also use it to dry your hands, ensuring all the germs go right into the Aquavac and stay out of your kitching. Not a bad idea, Oxley.
