Alfa Romeo Bertone BAT 11 is one amazing-looking car

alfabertone.jpgAs far as concept cars go, they don't get much more futuristic than this. The Alfa Romeo Bertone BAT 11 is a concept car that looks straight out of a scifi movie. But this is real, and it's actually going into production, albeit a really limited production. We're talking a run of 25 to 50 cars, each of them costing more than your house.

That being said, this is a real stunner. Just look at the lines on this thing! And the wheels! There aren't a ton of details about the engine, but since it's an Alfa Romeo, it's safe to say they won't skimp in that department. It's sure to be one of the more impressive and unique cars on any road it drives down. Start saving your pennies, friends.

I don't know why you call it amazing-looking. It's just ugly duckling. Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maseratti, Aston Martin - those are really amazing-looking cars. But this one is as ugly as Renault...

In the true spirit of the Alfa BAT (Berlinetta Aerodinamica Tecnica) cars, this one follows in the footsteps of its predecessors that were last created as concept cars in the mid 50s... innovative and daring. True, the new Farraris are finally starting to look sexy again (something that hasn't happened since the 50s) and the Lamborghini is pleasing to look at (it also went though very painful "angular" years), Maserati is a really nice looking touring car once again, and the Aston Martin has always managed to have beautiful lines, but their current offerings are relatively conservative in the design of their production models (believe me, I would jump at the chance to own any of those). But the Alfa BAT 11 has stepped "out of the box" with its production line once again. Aesthetically, speaking the overall lines and even the details of the design, can stand alone as a wonderfully clean and unprecedented work of art. I would love to be able to take it for a test drive!

Why does everyone think that the Stealth design of jet fighters should cross over to cars? All the blocky angular boxieness does not mean that the car is cool. it just means it looks like a box on wheels.

No matter hoe much it costs, typically the A/Romeo interior simply falls apart out here in the summer heat where I reside and have owned 2 A/Romero, Hope they've cleaned up their act...

How did they make the car.
