Make a Cylon Contest winners coming soon
Thanks to everyone who submitted entries for our Make a Cylon Contest. Sorry we haven't posted the winners yet — we've been so overwhelmed with all the wacky designs and cool videos y'all turned in (Centurions and Raiders and skin jobs, oh my!) that it's slowing the process down a bit. But Tricia and Grace are sifting through the entries, and they'll be making their decisions soon. In the meantime, enjoy this roundup of the cooler entries we've seen so far.

There should be more contests like this, they're fun! I wish I had known about it. I have a huge supply of balsa wood, tongue depressors, and pipe cleaners I need to use up.

The Cylon Contest is long over, yet we must not forget the reasons why so many sacrificed so much in the cause of making. The cost of making the Cylon can be high, but... sometimes it's too high. You know, when we built the Cylons, we did it to save ourselves from boredom. But we never answered the question Why? Why are we as a people building Cylons? We still enter contests because of greed and pride and fun, and we still visit Dvice and Make to look for the results. We refuse to believe that all hope is lost, like we did that Monday so many weeks ago. We decided to enter, create Cylons. When that contest turned against us, we comforted ourselves in the knowledge that it really wasn't our fault, not really. You cannot make Cylons and then wash your hands of the things that you've created. Sooner or later, the day comes when you can't keep hoping for contest results anymore.

The Cylons were Created by man... until now, we didn't know why, or why they revolted. All of this has happend before, and will happen again.
This is a lesson to future generations. Don't create a bunch of Cylons and then let them sit around waiting. Bad stuff happens.

For anyone keeping track of this I saw a blurb on the web (io9) quoting Tricia Helfer that they are still shooting the final eppy of the show, and that she expects they might be done around July 12th. So I'd doubt there's much judging happening at least until then.
