Halo Lamp throws a soft, diffuse glow; looks awesome
This Halo Light, designed by Sander Mulder, is both classy and practical. First of all, it looks pretty awesome, with its ring of light supported by an arcing pole. But even better is that it doesn't use a bulb, instead having the entire underside of the hood emitting light, presumably thanks to LEDs. This creates a soft, diffused light that minimizes shadows.
As Rob from BB Gadgets points out, this makes it the perfect lamp for artists who are looking to minimize shadows while still using just one light source. Also, did I mention how downright awesome it looks? Unfortunately, it's made-to-order with an undisclosed price, meaning it's more expensive than it's worth. Oh well.

i would totally love one of these in my room. this would be awesome. hopefully its cheep or will be cheep. your basically paying for LEDs and some metal. these, your probably also buying the artistry of it too. but hopefully this catches on to were the starving artist can afford it.
