Crazy two person bicycle makes so little sense to me
From the "Bad Ideas" file: the Bi-Cycle, a bike built for two where the passengers face in opposite directions, each with their own handlebars and pedals. That's right: if both pedal at the same time, the two wheels spin in opposite directions. If it's moving forward, someone is always facing backwards. If they both steer right, they fall.
Now the creator claims that this bike "demands a trust bond between the riders." I don't doubt that. But it's also gonna demand some craziness from the riders, and a willingness to fall and maybe break some bones. Really, what's the point of this thing? I'm truly perplexed. Someone, anyone, explain it to me.

I imagine it would be useful in marital/premarital counseling settings. My wife and I went on tandem skis the winter we were engaged and came to the quick conclusion that it would be beneficial for any couple thinking of marriage. I can see this one being used for that as well as for showing how important trust is along with how difficult not working together is for a marriage that needs some "maintenance."

Not a dumb as it looks.
The trailing wheel will tend to move straight even if you take your hand off the handlebar.

Oh yeah, it requires a lot of confidence... If one person falls, they both get hurt. I'd rather show my confidence in other ways, thank you. I don't see what trust in my boyfriend's sporting ablities can show...
