Chrysler offers in-car WiFi

Many cars already have the option to stick a DVD player or video game system in the backseat, so it was only a matter of time before people had the option of adding a WiFi connection to their vehicle of choice. Finally, a way to write emails from your car! If you don't have a Blackberry or another cellphone with a web connection or email functions, that is. Which is becoming increasingly rare. But still, in-car WiFi!

This technological advancement is thanks to Chrysler, who will offer the antenna for $500 on all new car models. You'll pay $29 a month for a combo of EVDO and WiFi, allowing you to stay connected in as many places as possible. It's not a bad deal if you've got kids who just have to be logged on to Facebook at all times or just really hate talking to your family during car rides.

Ummm...this needs to be third partied asap. Currently the only way to get EVDO in a car is through and EVDO card/router or using a tethered verizon phone, but the kicker is the 59/month plan.

Can't justify wireless in my car at that price. 29 is much more doable. I still think that 9 or 19 is the right price. Unless you are a mule every morning for a bunch of commuters, most cars are single passenger the bulk of the time and data is largely map/traffic info, maybe internet radio.

this is a fantastic idea if you are on a road trip with a bunch of people, or you get lost and don't have a GPS capable device.
