Take three of our least favorite gadgets and roll them into one, and you might get something like the Ampbot from Sega-Hasbro. Short for Automated Music Personality Robot, the Ampbot uses a Segway-like self-balancing drive system that lets it dance or follow you around the house as it blasts tunes from three speakers fed by a back-mounted MP3 player.
Those pads in Ampbot's hands are not more speakers, but work like a virtual mixing deck, allowing you to add sound effects like scratching noises over your tunes. Topping it all off, 49 LED light animations add a visual dimension to the experience while you control the whole shebang with a wireless remote.
That's all fine and dandy, but I really wonder how long it will take for the novelty to wear off. Perhaps after you've replaced the six D and three AAA batteries for the fifth time. The Ampbot will be available around October-November for a wallet-pumping $745.

At least it looks robot-esque and cool... Even if it is just a childs toy.
