A keyboard that's visible in the dark

lightkeyboard.jpgWhile I'm a fan of bright, shiny keyboards that make me feel like I'm typing at the control console of a spaceship, I don't really think such aesthetics are worth the $1,100 that they charge for the Optimus keyboard. I'm fine with something a bit simpler. And that's just what the DarFon keyboard is.

It looks to be a pretty straightforward PC keyboard with all the buttons you know and love, but it emits a nice glow from beneath the keys. It's good for working in the dark and still being able to see what you're doing, and it just looks darn cool. Why not add a little light to your computing life, after all?

Umm, why is this news? Backlit keyboards have been around for years, and they don't cost $1100. What's special about this thing? Does it have OLED keys like the optimus, or is this nothing more than a basic keyboard with backlighting?
