Robotic mouth developed, robo dinner companions not far off
Here's some creepy news: scientists have created a robot mouth that can chew food into a mash just like people, paving the way for robots of the future to acquire a taste for human flesh.
In reality, the device could be used as part of a robotic taste-tester, analyzing how foods taste when we chew them so only the most delicious artificially-flavored snacks get to your supermarket shelves. And while the contraption, which is five times the size of a normal mouth, won't look all that much like what's hanging out between your nose and your chin, it'll be the first device that actually replicates all the processes involved with the perception of food. And it's not creepy at all!
