Redesigned NES is maybe 15 years too late
The original Nintendo Entertainment System is a pretty strange choice for a gadget to redesign, what with it being a couple decades old and everything, but you can't argue with how slick the reNESED concept design is.
Featuring wireless controllers and a bold new color scheme, reNESED keeps the spirit of the original while bringing it into the 21st century. I certainly don't have any of my old cartridges still kicking around, having sold them back to a used game store to upgrade to a Super Nintendo some many years ago, but if this acted as an emulator and came loaded up with games I'd have a hard time saying no.

I think it's just someones basement creation. I don't think it's profitable for Nintendo to sell a 25 year old system, especially since you can't even buy cartridges except through ebay.

I think smaller would be better... I have a NES emulator on my Palm Treo, and I can play games anywhere I am. A great on for Palm owners is called L.J.P. and it;s a free download!

Honestly, it's the ugliest thing I've seen in a long time. Clunky and dated. The original NES looks better than this crap.

Praetorian75, the SELECT isn't even part of the code, it's only used to move the cursor to the 2 PLAYER setting if so desired.
Doing the code without select starts a 1 player game with the code.

If "bold new color scheme" means they added red and black, then sure. What they Should've done was figure out a way to make it top loading, like the Famicom, so the things don't break so easily.

Patents last for 17 years. Wherever you got 50 from, you must have been smoking some nasty ass stuff.
As for what they should do: 1. Make it so that both old cartridges, and new discs work inside of it. Also, give it a small hard drive to keep your progress.

I'd buy a revamped NES if it came preloaded with all the games. Otherwise there is no real point. I sold all of my NES stuff a long time ago because I tired of all the space it took up mostly just sitting there. But a system that had all the games stored internally instead of relying on cartridges and it worked just as if I was playing the NES system then I would buy it in a heartbeat as long as it was reasonably priced. I wouldn't pay $100s. I believe this exact thing was done for Atari not sure which one it was but I remember playing it when I was very young.
