Nintendo DS offers touchpad version of classic Korg synthesizer

korgNINDS1.jpgMusic purists still shunning the all software instruments currently available to musicians take heart, there is a compromise available. The KORG DS-10 software has been released as software for the Nintendo DS. The original synthesizer keyboard version of this model was a staple of 1970s era experimentalists looking for that otherworldly sound.

The DS touch pad allows you to somewhat faithful recreate those spacey sounds from the palm of your hand, as well as fiddle with the archaic virtual device's numerous modulation knobs, operate a four-part drum machine and trade songs and loops via WiFi. Alas, this is only available in Japan for 4,800 yen ($46), but that isn't likely stop true fans of one of Korg's greatest instruments.
