Microsoft gives first peek at Windows 7
Last night, Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer unveiled Windows 7, the next version of the operating system, for the first time. It doesn't look like it takes too many big leaps visually, instead changing the way people interact with it. One of its biggest new components is allowing for multitouch displays, hinting that Microsoft is betting people are ready to move beyond the keyboard and mouse.

Still about 18 months away, everything the dynamic duo showed off involved a multitouch display. From a 10-finger Paint program to a hands-on piano program, it all involved fingers. How this will translate to more traditional tasks currently best suited for a keyboard and mouse isn't clear, nor is what else the team plans to upgrade from Vista, but we've got plenty of time to speculate about it.

This is nothing new, check out "Surface", http://www.microsoft.com/surface/index.html

Touch and voice do have a future. I believe it's pretty much inevitable and MS see that as well. Keyboard will become a secondary input.

Wow, looks cool. I wonder if it will live up to the hype as well as Vista did!

Ok, so what you're saying is Microsoft trying to copy Apple; again.

Apple.. Common, give Gene Roddenbury credit... Think TNG

it does look cool, but How much we are talking about Rams Memory. How much higher Rams requires to make this Happen on Window 7. THere is no information about Window 7 System information that require for upgrade from XP or Vista to Window 7? Let me know

I soooo knew one of the Apple fanboys would be like 'zomg they copy waaa waaa, cry' ...

Microsoft has been working on this for years. So before you make yourself look like a retard, learn the development cycle.

This is what the industry would deem 'a logical step' ... So before you Apple fanboys get your panties all up in a bunch, remember, that the iphone was old tech before it came out, and the iphone 2.0 is old tech right now.
