Lodge Chair makes music touchable, sitting uncomfortable
lodge_chair_main.jpg

Touching your music sounds interesting, but sitting on it? That's the idea behind the Lodge Chair, a small, rather uncomfortable-looking chair with an iPod built in. Sounds like kind of an OK concept… until you realize the subwoofer and volume controls are in the decidedly less portable side table.

In trying to make something that doesn't come across as "geeky," the Lodge people made something that's actually pretty lame. The chair looks not at all comfy and is helplessly tethered to an ugly side unit, not to mention the thing that might actually give you a decent sense of "touching" your music — the subwoofer — isn't even built into the chair, like in this more sensible design. And you know what else? It does look geeky.

But hey, free iPod, I guess.
