With the second version of Apple's insanely-popular iPhone launch imminent, HTC has decided to launch its answer to the smartphone behemoth: the HTC Touch Diamond. The touchscreen phone certainly has a lot in common with the iPhone, but it also brings its own style to the table.
It's got a fancy new interface called TouchFLO 3D that gives you access to everything on the phone, and it has its own browser for surfing the web on its 3G wireless connection. It has some unique features, like the phone automatically going into silent mode when placed face-down on a table, which is really clever. Will it be enough to take on the 3G iPhone this summer? We'll have to wait and see, as it drops in Europe in June with release in the rest of the world coming later this year.

This seems pretty cool, but there is no mention of cost, provider or hard drive size to compare it. Also, what is up with that funky back side? It looks kind of cool, but strange that it is not just flat. I suppose it needs the little extra room for the camera lens and the bends may add some strength, but what is their reasons?
