Start up five metronomes at different times and you get a ticking cacophony. But place those five tickety-tackety timekeepers onto a board spanning two soft drink cans, and something miraculous happens.
We’re not physicists here, but we’re told this perfect synchronization happens because of the Law of Momentum Conservation. Also, the fact that all the metronomes are coupled by their common base contributes to the magic.
The resulting effect is oddly satisfying. If only the world worked this way.

Charlie,
Darndest thing, ever, you have come up with here!
Rock Bands could get some "beat" ideas from this.

Neat!
The world does work that way; it just takes a lot longer than our lifetimes ;)

nice, they sync together 'cause they vibrate at the same time on a moving base. Each metronome vibration influence an other, so they sync.
