$12,000 is too much to pay for a CD player shaped like a UFO
Look, I can kind of understand how some audiophiles justify spending a lot of money on fancy audio equipment, but don't they realize that the CD is a dying format? I mean, I'm sure this ridiculous-looking $12,000 CD player is great and everything, but won't you feel stupid in a few years when CDs go the way of the cassette tape and are replaced by digital downloads?
Also, come on. Look at this thing. It looks ridiculous. It won't blend in with your home theatre setup unless you live on a spaceship, and it looks designed more for a college dorm room than for the living room of a rich audio snob. But hey, I'm sure someone out there will waste their money on it.
