The ugliest and most unnecessary PS3 mod ever
uglyps3.jpgIf you're looking to make your Playstation 3 even bigger and more awkwardly shaped, have we got a mod for you. This enterprising tinkerer build an extra hard drive bay onto his beloved console, making it sort of blend in with the curved black plastic and official PS3 font. The problem? It's ugly as sin.

Even worse, it's completely unnecessary. Swapping out the Playstation 3's internal hard drive for a larger one is super-easy, as Sony designed it to be swappable. You don't need to turn your PS3 into a Frankenstein to bulk it up, you can just pop a drive in and out. But hey, nice craftsmanship there, pal.

Listen pal, I made that thing and I'd just like to get a few things straight!!!

3.5" HDDs are way cheaper than 2.5" ones so unless you haven't got what is known as common sense, you would realise that there is a very big point to it. About £100 worth of point in fact!!!

Also, I needed something to make for my school technology project.

To Milky Joe,
I would much rather spend more on getting a 2.5" HDD to put in my PS3 than put some ugly shit like that on. Jesus Christ, what were you thinking? And think of the time you wasted on it. I feel sorry for you because you were really proud of your creation and now you have to hear how ugly it is and how much it sucks. It does, in fact, suck.

Have you used it? No? Then what grounds do you have to base that opinion on. Also, waste of time? I don't know you, maybe you have some kind of moral stance that stops you from actually reading things in full but I needed something for my technology project, and this has given me plenty to do over the past year, so no. It hasn't been a waste of time.

I think it's good. I couldn't do that. Why don't all the people saying it's shit post pictures of the stuff they made in school and let everyone post comments about them?

Milky Joe, having the ability to do what you've done means that when you're older, you probably won't end up in a minimum wage job slagging peoples work off on the internet, so don't be offended by what people write, pity them and keep up the good work.

i second jimbo's comments. keep modding milky joe. i think ur mod has alot of potential.

Good job m8, well done, not what i would have done as its not the most attractive thing around, but think of the positives now you could probably get a tephebit HDD with money left to spare, I'm getting an external USB HDD. Sony should have put a 3.5 HDD in when they where piecing their system together, hopefully still will in following SKU's. again well done, dont care about what other people think, you did a good job their, corrected Sony mistake.

I totally get what your saying but I think there's a really simple way to make it look better, if you put that HDD holder next to the PS3 instead of on top of it I think it'll look much better. I think you actually did a pretty good job.

Dude how can you say expansive i got a 120 gig drive the correct 75 bucks on sale. So I didn't have to do that to save money. You just got to learn to shop around and look before diving into something

"Dude how can you say expansive i got a 120 gig drive the correct 75 bucks on sale"
i could get a 250 3.5 for cheaper than that, or a 500 gig for about $20 more than that, so ya, its alot more expensive.
