The first commercially-available OLED lamp
OLEDs are a much-buzzed about new way to produce light that requires very little energy and can last for years without needing to be replaced. While there are still a number of setbacks to overcome before they reach the point of potentially replacing the bulbs we use now, we're just starting to see the first uses of them in commercial products.
This new lamp from OSRAM, dubbed the Early Future, is the first dedicated OLED lamp to hit the market. They haven't released details like just how energy efficient it is or how much it's going to cost, but it's great to see the tech finally making its way into products.
