Equalizers are hip — no longer meant only for computers and high-end audio equipment. Just take a look at the SpeaQualiser Raver and Chiller, which join the likes of the equalizer watch and other products. The SpeaQualiser looks like a picture frame, but it's really a fairly standard equalizer. It has a built-in microphone that will pick up sounds and display a corresponding frequency.

The SpeaQualiser could be a great party prop, though it's not like the other 99 percent of your will improve much if you get it. The Chiller comes in calmer colors, while the Raver comes in brighter colors. The frames are available for $40.
