Plantronics Discovery 925 Bluetooth headsets are real head-turners
Some of us don’t mind looking preoccupied with our cell phones, wearing a Bluetooth earpiece as if always expecting a call. That’s why we might be willing to spend $150 on this Plantronics Discovery 925 beauty, just rolled out today at the big CTIA (Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association) cell phone show in Vegas.
It’s small, gorgeous, and available this month. Let’s hope it sounds as good as it looks. If this black and silver trim doesn’t suit you, you might want to wait for the gold or pink versions on their way in May. Take a look at the gallery — they all look great. And hey, in some states, when you’re driving while dialing, you’re not just wearing the thing to be cool — it’s the law.

Um, the Bluetooth cell phone headsets will look geeky until they fit in the ear unseen. I want to point and laugh at every dork that wears their headset that's not actually using it. The urge to laugh isn't so strong when they are actually in use... but they're still dorky.

When driving in certain areas, we now have laws that say hands free cell phone use only.
When I'm on the freeway my plantronics bluetooth works great. Both hands are on the steering wheel.
I like the looks of this one.

The thing that gets me doesn't the bluetooth headsets look exactly like the ear pieces for the Cybermen in Doctor Who.

Hmm interesting I am sure that it looks great we can all agree on that but rcossebo is right the fit and the sound are most important and we all no that hands free is the way to go.. one other thing is the phone will it accept it?

I simply don't understand why one needs to be on and at the cellphone all the time. Wasn't there a time when we weren't fixated on perpetual socialization and actually enjoyed a few moments to ourselves without these worthless gadgets? My $150 is going towards something I will actually benefit from after the instant gratification has worn off -- like traveling, dates, or education.

Electronic gadgets always start out bulky and a PITA to use. Think back to the invent of the cellphone, it looked like a military 2-way radio and weighed a ton!
Todays cell phones have come a long way, and I'm surprised that it took so long to minimize the size of a Bluetooth.
The Plantronics device more resembles a cuff link than a Bluetooth, and looks worlds better than the current market offerings which more resemble an electronic cockroach screwing their wearers in the ear.
Once the hands-free law goes into effect here in So Calif in June IIRC, it should have a fair impact (no pun intended) on the amount of cellphone related auto accidents.
It obviously won't eliminate them, because some people simply just weren't meant to multitask.
My feeling is that this law will recieve such a positive report (or a "massaged" report) that it will be updated to include banning Bluetooth use while driving as well, which is just fine with me!
