Moon orb lamps make every scene more beautiful

snow_mood.jpg

Moonlight is a German company that makes these beautiful glowing orbs. The polyethylene spheres range from 13-30 inches across and can survive in temperatures from -40 to 170 Fahrenheit. Though they've been around in Europe for a while (they kind of scream "minimalist hotel decoration!" to us), they're finally coming to the United States, via a new company called, appropriately enough, Moonlight USA.

Moonlight makes all sorts of orbs, from half-orbs, to orbs decorated like a real moon, to electric pink ones. Check them out in the gallery bellow. If you want to fill your own yard with glowing balls (and why wouldn't you?), individual orbs will range between $325 to $1,000 each. Miniature versions sold separately.

Ooooo... I like these. The ones on the grass are especially nice for bringing up the green.

Very cool, except at those prices, you would have to be rich to buy half a dozen and not feel like a moron 3 months later. I think I'll wait for the price to drop in a few years.

One thing they didn't say was, what powers these things or Ahhhhh why would I want them?

HEAVENS, BOY!! What fully-grown man wouldn't want a set of
glowing balls if he could have them!!

LOL @ Quaichang's comment..! I for one would sure like a huge set of glowing balls... but that's off topic... Anyway, I think these are beautiful. I would classify them as 'functional art'. The pics are art in themselves. I have to agree with Afterburner909. I will wait for the price to drop a bit first.

What a waste of resources. and the pics are poorly touched up. I like weird but this seems elitist and wasteful

Listening to the news, I noticed Hillary C. [who, along with her spouse reported making $107m since he left office], referenced to individuals making $50k a year. So if you're not overextended, or making too many child support payments, or stashing too much away to replace social security, you could afford to waste your resources on a few of these.

I would be waiting for the LED color change models in different shapes like squares, cylinders, and pyramids. Oh shoot, they already have them at Spencers.
