Microsoft's Clearflow predicts traffic jams to keep you out of them

livemaps.pngMicrosoft has a fancy new toy that could help you avoid getting stuck in any more traffic jams. The new tech, called Clearflow, uses five years of past traffic data from 72 different cities in the USA to predict when there'll be a traffic jam.

By being able to predict when the streets off a highway are backed up as well, the system can advice drivers to do things they wouldn't think to be logical, such as staying stuck in a traffic jam rather than getting of f the highway, but that will actually end up to be faster in the long run. Of course, a software program can't predict when there's about to be an accident or something of that nature, but any advantage you have to get out of a jam should be music to your ears.
