Man gets his appendix removed through his mouth

mouthsurgery.jpgI've got good news and I've got bad news. The good news is that in the future, surgery will be quicker, less painful, allow for faster recover times, and not leave any scars. That's great! The bad news? All of these things will happen because surgery will involve sticking really long robots with knives down your throat to do all the dirty work. Yikes!

In fact, a man just has his appendix removed through his mouth, a world's first. And while yeah, the whole knives-down-the-throat thing is off-putting, it was a complete success, with the recipient of the surgery able to be back at work two days later and doing sit-ups a day after that. In the end, I suppose we'll learn to deal with such creepy prospects as robotic mouth surgery due to the benefits, but it's going to take a lot of getting used to.

as creepy as that is... if they have to use an orifice so there won't be any scars, i'm glad it's on the mouth end.

That's nothing! They removed his tonsils through his anus.
