Lunar Design wants to turn you into a walking billboard. The Blu Jacket is a design concept that uses flexible organic e-paper to show passersby your mood, subway maps as you see here, or can even play video advertisements to annoy (or enlighten) everyone in sight. Reminding us of Blade Runner, it’s a concept that could be used for good or ill.
We like the idea of electronic fabric, but if this jacket is actually constructed anytime soon, it will cost tens of thousands of dollars. So what? That’s what we like about design concepts — creators can be as optimistic as they dare, in this case hoping that someday soon flexible, organic OLED tech will cost the same as combed cotton. Dream on.

This has the porn industry written all over it.
Think revealing without really showing your true body. Hmm perhaps a new market for body doubles?

What ever you could graphically make on the computer or design you like you could wear and it could change periodically. Brillant. How much? And where do I get one?

When will the advertising stop? When every square inch of every man made surface on the planet is covered with ads? Ads on nearly every website, manufacturers logos on most articles of clothing, adds on spinner hubcaps on taxis in Los Angeles, Geico ads on toll booths in Florida (the 3 bucks they got from me to escape Orlando wasn't enough?). I swear NASCAR created the car of tomorrow to equalize the ad area available on each car. I'm not sure how much longer I can take it. Annoying, annoying, annoying idea.

You think that advertising could even succeed? With high prices there is no real opportunity for advertising. Maybe later when that clothing would be more accessible to masses.

Yes this is something that will cost a lot to make, but i think more than anything i would hope that advertisers can't decide what will be displayed! We already wear Coors light and Hollister shirts, but we have the option to buy those shirts. For a garment that is changing, i would hope the wearer would have the option. I think the concept overall is really fun! I would love to wear something like this!
