iPhone calling Canada: I'll be there soon

iphone_canada.jpg

Canadians have been shut out of the whole iPhone movement (some might say that's a relief) since no service provider in the Great White North had stepped up to make the phone work on their network. That's all changed now that Rogers Communications, the country's largest wireless provider, has announced it'll bring the iPhone to Canada "later this year," sneaking the news in the company's latest earnings report.

Though this probably won't do anything to reduce those absurdly high roaming data rates that I'm hit with whenever I'm hanging out in Edmonton, at least it means I won't have to deal with all my northern friends' complaints about how they can't buy the iPhone. Happy now, Christine?
