British school kids get uniforms made from old Coke bottles

The expression "that soda will go right to your rear end" has taken a literal twist with the new Ecosmart range of school uniforms from British supplier School Colours. Using yarn that's created from clear soda bottles, the cloth can be dyed in any of the traditional uniform colors, and looks and feels like regular polyester. About 30 1.5 Liter bottles are needed for each blazer, and while the cloth is being woven in Taiwan, the actual garments are sewn in Europe to allay concerns about child labor practices.
