Now cheap lensmaker Vivitar joins the likes of Canon and Sanyo in the tiny HD camcorder derby with its DVR565HD, recording 720p on a minuscule SD flash memory card. Adding to the fun is a relatively huge 3-inch viewscreen, giving you a generous look at your subject.
Just announced a few minutes ago, there’s no word on pricing yet, but if this baby wants to compete with the sub-$500 Canon PowerShot TX1 and Sanyo’s Xacti line of pint-sized pocketcorders, it’ll have to deliver high quality HD on the cheap.
