With a look that screams "electric shaver" and a name better suited to a new anti-depressant, the Edirol mp3 player from Roland has so much going against it you just have to love it. The device's more redeeming qualities include the ability to record and play back 24-bit audio, SD/SDHC card compatibility, a high speed USB 2.0 port and up to 4 hours of recording time. New features offered in the updated Edirol R-09HR from the previous Edirol R-09 are: a remote control, a preview monitor, a small internal speaker and Cakewalk Audio Creator LE. Pricing hasn't been announced but you can keep a lookout for the tiny monstrosity here.

What do you want , function or glamour?
Does it work or does it look pretty? The same goes for you.Do you function or are you just a pretty, egotistical ornament?

its a piece of field recording equipment, not a fashion statement like an ipod, tards.

ovlet is correct. This is an extremely compact high quality (24-bit) audio recorder. It is not an MP3 player, it just happens to record and replay in both mp3 and wav formats.

Tech is your obsession, eh? Then perhaps you should seek a better understanding of the products you are critiquing, before you open your arrogant yap. An 'unfashionable', high-resolution professional field recorder (gasp)...what was Roland thinking? Oh, probably that they don't care what someone, who obviously spends too much time at the mall, may think; especially if that person is misinformed enough to think this device was designed for playing their stolen collection of 8 bit MP3's. You're an idiot!

that was terrible, as it's been said, it's a high quality field recorder not an mp3 player, hence it's size and looks.
