Pantech challenges Korean universities to design futuristic cellphones

Pantech, maker of some pretty innovative phones, recently challenged students at a variety of universities across Korea to design a phone for 2010. Pantech asked and they received, but some of the winning designs look like phones better suited for 2100 than two years from now.

The winning entries go by the names Wavy Steam, Waterfall Fish, Simplice Section, Cell Dot and Lily Tower. Each phone is pretty bizarre in its own, special way. I like the effort put into the designs of these cellphones, but I'd rather see a more realistic entries for the challenge. Still, you have to admire how these cellphones push the boundaries of innovation and design.
