The Poseidon Mk IV Discovery is a device that is going to revolutionize the way people underwater dive. It will allow for comfortable, safe and quiet diving thanks to an oxygen recycling system. Yes, it's capable of taking your used oxygen and make it usable again with p02 scrubbing and an oxygen cells. It is as simple as slapping on your back, allowing the system to do its self checks and diving.
This system is supposedly cheaper than the traditional open circuit scuba systems as well. And because no oxygen is being breathed out, there will be no air bubbles so James Bond and other spies can dive unnoticed. It does require refillable tanks of the oxygen cells and a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, but the system is well equipped with safety equipment to warn of low levels.

How is the system dealing with the Nitrogen and how the computers are going to calculate your dive times?

It's a rebreather. These are not really new, check out the Azimuth, Dolphin, CIS Lunar, Prism Topaz, Buddy Inspiration, Halcyon, Cora Airway, The KISS CCR manual control rebreather… and several others. I'm not sure what is new in this package. A note: while it is being marketed to "recreational divers," you should not dive with a rebreather unless you have been trained to do so. While this unit may be easy to operate, it can kill the unwary with remarkable ease. (As can any other rebreather!)

This is the Discovery Mk VI not Mk IV. Check out the picture, you can just make it out.
Topo, Poseidon are claiming that you can essentially double up the dive times as your N levels are optimal throughout the dive. I am guessing you would need a specialized computers.

I think you mean "C02" not "p02" LOL

This is not an oxygen rebreather! Oxygen rebreathers have a 25 foot depth limit because 100% oxygen becomes toxic at just 2 atmospheres. This system has to mix both oxygen & nitrogen to make air which is then "scrubbed".
