Kyocera's 1,000 page-per-minute printer head
How fast do you need your printer to be? 30 pages a minute seems pretty reasonable to me, putting out a page every couple of seconds. But what if you're printing enough to be producing 19th-century Russian novels, and you just don't want to wait? Well, Kyocera hears you, and its looking to help.
It recently developed a new printer head that's capable of pumping out 1,000 sheets per minute. Yes, that's insanely fast. And it's not just a proof of concept, either; Kyocera plans to stick this super printer head in actual, commercially-available printers next month. Not that you need a printer that fast — it's just nice to know it's available.
