Eddie Izzard talks tech, exposes where he stands between Macs, PCs

Eddie-Izzard-with-iPhone.jpgDressed in a casual (and surprisingly male) fashion, world-class stand-up comedian Eddie Izzard has been crackin' wise at the Union Square Theater in New York City about everything from the origins of mankind to hunting bees with flamethrowers. And, of specific interest to DVICE, technology.

Izzard referenced his love of Wikipedia several times and how easily it allows anyone to know seemingly everything. At one point during his performance, Izzard couldn't remember where Lord of the Rings author J. R. R. Tolkien hailed from, but — with an excited "Let's look it up!" — Izzard pulled out an iPhone and moments later learned the writer was South African.

That's right, Eddie's a Mac man. What's he like about them? The bouncing icons on the dock, and the snazzy blue loading bar. Okay, maybe he isn't the biggest tech-head, but the iPhone-toting comedian portrayed the less glossy PC as archaic, Windows startup diagnostics as terrifying to the average user, and having to reboot (on a Mac or a PC) as a waste of time.

Eddie Izzard has been on the stage since February 23rd, and will continue to do so until March 8th.
