Most urban style folding bikes give up sleek styling for practicality and compactness, but not this concept model from German bike manufacturer Cube. Looking a bit like a sleeker version of the Cannondale On, the USC was designed by Coburg University of Applied Sciences student Gregor Dauth, who says it folds to a size small enough to fit into the tiny Smart car. Far from being a bare bones unworkable concept, the USC includes such practical features as a built in generator hub for the integrated LED lighting that switches on automatically when it gets dark.
No word about potential availability, but a bike this cool might even get me to follow my Doctor's advice and get some exercise.

That, looks horrible. I'll stick with my shiny aluminum frame.

Fleet & light & compact for sport riding ... but my main use of my folding Dahons is urban utility ... shopping, movies, dining, work ... for which the upright seat, the handlebars to hang groceries on, the fenders for rain/sleet and the rear rack for spontaneous acquisitions, not mention the low front tube for long coats and skirts, are unsurpassable! Keep designing though, bike companies! All to the good.
