A twist cap that flavors your drink

aojiru-tea.jpg

Here's a clever idea: a plastic bottle with a special cap that holds 1.4 grams of a powder, such as powdered green tea, that's released into the water below when opened. It allows you to mix fresh powdered drinks from a standalone bottle that you buy at the store.

It's a cool idea, but I wonder just what the benefits are. I mean, it's from a powder. It's not like it needs to be all that fresh. But hey, having a fancy cap like that has got to be a little bit more expensive, giving drink manufacturers an excuse to jack up prices and run an elaborate marketing campaign. I'm sure we'll seem them widespread in no time at all.

If only I could think of a powdered substance that was useful in quantities of 1.4g....

A better idea would be to simply sell the powder caps. That way, you can flavor any bottled water anytime you like.

some beverages like sports drinks that contain creatine, have a limited window of effectiveness after being mixed with water. they shortly turn into creatinine which is not beneficial, even toxic at high levels. This would solve that issue and add a convenient single serving size.
