A tiny laptop with a detachable screen: half of a good idea

gecube.jpgThe GeCube Genie PC is a relatively unremarkable UMPC for the most part, with a tiny 7-inch screen, 2Gb of flash memory storage, and a Linux-based operating system, but it does have one little trick up its sleeve that differentiates it from other similar tiny laptops: a detachable screen.

Yes, the screen pops right off, retaining all computer functions. Well, most of them; it's not a touchscreen, but it has a trackpad on the back side that lets you use the mouse. If you want to type anything, you're out of luck. It seems like they're halfway there with this idea, but not quite. But hey, for $450 I guess it's not too bad a deal.
