A robotic falcon that scares real birds away

falco.jpgBirds and airports don't mix. I mean, yes, both are based around taking to the skies, but birds have a pesky way of splattering on windshields and getting sucked into jet engines that can cause a serious number of problems.

Enter the Falco, a gigantic robotic bird designed to scare the white, dribbling crap out of any bird that dares fly around an airport. With a 5.25-foot wingspan and able to fly on its own after being powered for the first minute in air, it’s a formidable foe to annoying birds anywhere. At a recent test, it dispersed over 1,000 seagulls that were causing problems at the Genoa airport. Look to see it from your window seat sometime in the near future.

What stops these robotic birds form getting sucked into a jet engine?

Falco?? Does it play 'Rock me Amadeus' as it swoops around?

I want this robot bird for my home to get rid of all the rotten pigeons!(i.e. rats with wings). Hope they come out with a reasonably priced home version.

CAN I PURCHASE ONE AND HOW MUCH IS IT.
