Zu Zu's Petals — if gardeners made gadgets, they'd look like this
Zu Zu's Petals is a collection of consumer electronics concepts by Bluemap Design that are meant to inject a little natural goodness into the unnaturally-shaped technology world. The various devices of Zu Zu's Petals are presented as if they are growing out of a pot, and the designers posit that the technology is supposed to grow and change with the user's needs. It's plant-like nature is also to make it more intuitive, stirring some innate want of man to return to nature — or something or other.
Maybe I've lived in the city too long, but, looking at Zu Zu's Petals, I can't really figure out what it's supposed to do or how it works. Rarely do I think: "If only this cell phone was shaped more like a palm tree."
